About what inspired me
My name is Angel Morgan, I am a qualified behaviorist for cats and dogs. I have a passion to help owners enjoy their pets, living in harmony under the same roof. From a young age I was always fascinated in animals big and small, watching wildlife and animal documentaries. Growing up I always thought I would be a vet, but that didn't happen. I grew up with a lilac Siamese called Kitty, he was always so nice to me, and was great company.
When I was around 8 years old my mother agreed, we could get a dog. She was a Boarder Collie x Whippet, she had the slender Whippet shape with the long black and white hair of the Collie. She was called Sally, I was keen to learn how to be a good dog owner, so I got book on dog training. I followed the guidance and Sally did everything I asked. I also walked her, fed her and my family were impressed on how well she behaved. I just couldn't fault her, but one day I was walking her during the day in the woods and somebody had set off a firework. She was petrified and ran off, sadly I never found her again. I was so heart broken I didn't have much to do with animals for a while. Then, 17 years ago, I got my first kitten call Malibu. She was a black and white British short hair. She was so kind and friendly with a great temperament; she was the one out of the litter that chose me. We both had a great bond, but I missed having a dog, so I started dog walking for owners. I enjoyed it, but this wasn't enough; I wanted to learn more. I also started cat sitting for owners away on holiday, but again wanted to learn more. Then I got my dog Rex from 8 weeks old. Before finding him I was keen to research what breed suits me and read dog training books. Rex was Welsh Boarder Collie x Blue Merle with tri colour. I did everything in the book and he turned out perfect. I did research on slowly introducing Malibu and Rex. That went well and they developed a good bond. I thoroughly enjoyed training with them both. They both inspired me to consider to become a animal behaviorist. So I became a qualified dog trainer with the COAPE college, I did puppy classes and one to one training with their owners and got so much enjoyment out of it. But it still wasn't enough as, I wanted to help with the cats too. So I did a diploma behaviorist course to help owners with their cats and dogs problem behaviors. I learned so much from this course and in May 2021 I qualified. Now I am looking to help owners and their troubled pets, with the knowledge and experience from my own pets. Also. to put my qualified knowledge to use doing behavioral referrals from the vets in the North Somerset and Somerset area. It is my dream to help owners make their pets feel happy and content in a loving safe environment, helping stressed or traumatized animals feel content again, using positive reinforcement training. |
