Very sad news, I had to say my last good byes to my wonderful dog Rex. He has been with me for 13 and a half years and lived a really good dogs life. As a puppy he taught me so much about dogs. He would join me dog walking and was always by my side, so loyal to me. I thoroughly enjoyed training him so much, that Rex inspired to go to college and become a dog trainer. Once I qualified I had him come to the puppy classes with me and he really played a good role model, for the owners and puppies. Enjoyed my job so much that decided to go to university, get my diploma to be a feline and canine behaviorist. At the time both my cat Malibu and dog Rex had inspired me to go for it, so I did and haven't looked back. Working as a animal behaviorist, is the best job, I enjoy helping owners and their pets. Its so rewarding to see improvements of the owner and pets lives together. But losing a pet can be hard and takes time to heel, when your going through the grief process. I lost Rex in April and today is the first time I can write about him without being in floods of tears. What hurts the most he was always there for me at sad times in my life and was a great therapy dog to aid me with anxiety and depression. So not having him has been very for me. If you or your friends have lost a pet and are struggling to come to terms with it, I feel your pain, your welcome to get in touch, I may be able to help you with your grief. Or if you notice your pets behavior declining, getting confused, waking up through the night with localisations, showing destructive behaviors to themselves or other pets or humans of the household, excessive drinking or lack of appetite to eat and lost of house training. Please get in touch sooner rather than later, as senior pets can struggle with illness, discomfort, they may try to hide it and left untreated could be fatal for the pet. This blog is dedicated to my wonderful pets who have past on, love them all. For them I will promise to be the best pet behaviorist I can be, to help as many owners and pets as possible. The photos of Rex were taken a couple of months before he started showing signs of illness. He was happy until the end of his days.
